GENERAL MANAGER PROFILE: LEDGEROCK GOLF CLUB
LedgeRock Golf Club is a remarkable private golf club located in beautiful southeastern Pennsylvania near Reading. Designed by renowned golf architect, Rees Jones, the course was developed to be a classic golf course combining links and parkland golf on a delightful, rolling terrain. The course meanders through wooded and open areas with streams and ponds coming into play on several holes. The most outstanding feature at LedgeRock is the dramatic topography. The elevated tee and green locations offer long vistas of the surrounding countryside and enhance the playability of this outstanding venue.
LedgeRock Golf Club has been crafted from 210 acres of pristine land from a former nursery, farm and estate, featuring open fields, ponds, elevation changes and wooded areas. LedgeRock captures the essence of a classic, old style course by maintaining the scenic beauty and elegant rustic nature of the original landscape. As Rees Jones explains, “There are a lot of sites for elevated tees and greens, and that means the course will have spectacular visibility. The more rugged the property is, the more spectacular the possibilities for the final product. It’s just an ideal piece of property for an old style course.” “LedgeRock has the potential to be a top 100 golf course.”
The Club provides the ultimate golf experience, from excellent playing conditions and superior practice facilities to quality programs for every family member.
LedgeRock provides a sanctuary for golfers of all ages and abilities to pursue the game, while receiving the highest level of personal service and enjoying opportunities for social interaction in an atmosphere that is refined, yet casual, and inviting.
LedgeRock’s Mission is:
LedgeRock is a growing club with unique resources to help fuel the Club’s ascent. In addition to the exceptional course, these resources are highlighted by (1) a new club house offering intimate interior atmosphere and outdoor spaces offering extraordinary sunset views of the course; (2) a “learning center” which is both a state of the art instructional and practice facility (including four heated indoor hitting bays for inclement weather) and nicely appointed entertainment spaces suitable for mid-size private functions; and (3) the Kohl Lodge, a quaint cottage offering overnight facilities and dining opportunities for small gatherings.
The Learning Center
The LedgeRock Learning Center is a great teaching facility within the greater south eastern Pennsylvania area. Designed in a carriage house style by Robbi Cox of Blackney Hayes Architects in 2004, the LedgeRock Learning Center also includes social areas for individual and corporate meetings with advanced technical support and presentation systems. With heated indoor practice bays and a large, full-shot driving range, the Learning Center provides ample opportunity for members to enjoy golf instruction and social gathering in a relaxed atmosphere. From the great room to the spacious patio, members and guests enjoy impressive views of the 13th and 14th holes.
LedgeRock Golf Club has a large practice range adjoining the Learning Center, affording members and guests an opportunity to hone their skills.
The outdoor practice area offers:
The Clubhouse offers indoor dining and a beautiful outdoor patio to enjoy the sunsets over the rolling hills of the golf course. Members find the casual bar to be a great gathering place. In the dining room they enjoy the outstanding cuisine which ranges from "comfort foods" to elegant presentations which exceed many fine restaurant offerings. The welcoming and casual atmosphere provides a popular venue where members enjoy a very active social environment.
Designed with a carriage style in mind, the facility carries over the look and feel of the Learning Center. The Men’s locker room contains full and half sized lockers, complete with Kohler fixtures and a full service locker room attendant.
The women’s locker room with its unsurpassed architectural features boasts cathedral like ceilings equipped with Kohler fixtures and full and half sized lockers. All of the showers are private and include dressing areas. A quaint, intimate lounge is ideal for socializing with friends. The facility offers comfort teamed with full service and paired with amazing views and vistas and all of the amenities a first class club offers.
The Pro Shop is located in the Locker Room building and is stocked with the latest and best equipment and fashionable golf wear.
An overnight room at the “Kohl Lodge” is another example of LedgeRock’s comfortable hospitality. The quaint cottage is located directly across from the 11th green. Centered around personalized service and convenience, the venue is perfect for an overnight stay, a private dinner or a business meeting. The lodge has 4 fully furnished bedrooms with in suite bathrooms, a spacious dining area, and a cozy great room. Breakfast is served to overnight guests each morning.
